Hi, everyone, and welcome! Whether you are a seasoned pro with a needle and thread or someone who’s just curious about learning, we’re thrilled to have you here. This club is all about coming together to share the joy of sewing, learning new skills, and creating something beautiful with our hands.

We meet the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 5:30 pm at The Art & Creativity Center.

What is the Sewing Club About?

Our Sewing Club is a space where people of all skill levels can gather to learn, create, and connect. Whether you are interested in making your own clothes, quilting, or simply mending things that need a little love, you’ll find something here for you. We will be hosting workshops, sewing challenges, and, of course, plenty of social time to share ideas and inspire each other.

Why Join?

  1. Learn New Skills: If you are a beginner, do not worry—everyone here was once where you are! We will offer basic lessons and tutorials on everything from hand stitching to machine sewing.
  2. Meet Like-minded People: Connect with others who share your passion (or curiosity!) for sewing. It is a great way to make new friends and be part of a supportive community.
  3. Creative Expression: Sewing is a fantastic way to express yourself creatively, whether you are designing your own clothes, making gifts, or just experimenting with new projects.
  4. Support & Inspiration: Sometimes, we all need a little help or encouragement when a project is not going as planned. Here, you will find a group ready to lend a hand or offer ideas when you are stuck.

What to Expect:

  • Workshops & Tutorials: Regular sessions where we will cover various techniques, from basic stitches to more advanced patterns.
  • Sewing Challenges: Fun, themed challenges to spark creativity and push your skills further.
  • Social Sewing Time: Bring your current project, chat with others, and get some sewing done together. It is a great chance to exchange tips and advice in a laid-back environment.
  • Show and Tell: We will have a chance to showcase what we’ve been working on and celebrate everyone’s progress!

Materials & Supplies:

Do not worry if you do not have everything yet! We will help guide you on what is needed for each project, and we sometimes have extra supplies for those just starting out. If you already have a sewing machine, bring it along! If not, you can still participate in many of our hand-sewing workshops.

How to Get Involved:

  • Club dues are $25 year. (This is to help TACC with their ongoing cost by covering our space usage and electricity.) Or you may join the “TACC Membership” for $50 which includes
membership in all the clubs (Sewing, Art Journaling, & Crochet) and a bonus Studio time for polymer clay once you have completed the beginning class.
  • Sign up for upcoming workshops and events.
  • Share your ideas and projects with the group.
  • Do not hesitate to ask questions or ask for advice—everyone here is supportive and excited to help each other!
